AAQ: The measure was normed on 3 clinical and 3 non-clinical samples. The 3 clinical samples together comprised a total of 920 participants, of whom 556 were female, 284 were male, and 414 were Caucasian (gender was known for 840 participants, and race was known for 479 participants). The three non-clinical samples together comprised 887 participants, of whom 620 were female, 264 were male, and 636 were Caucasian (gender was known for 884 participants, and race was known for 881 participants). AAQ-II: The measure was developed on 6 samples with a total sample size of 2,816. Participants were recruited from universities and treatment centres in Nevada, New York, Kentucky, and Illinois, as well as employees at banks/financial institutions in the UK. In all samples, the majority of participants were Caucasian. The total sample was greater than 50% female.

AAQ: The authors report an internal consistency reliability (alpha) of 0.70 and a test-retest reliability of 0.64. Further studies have reported alphas of 0.53-0.74 and test-retest reliabilities of 0.71-0.82 (please see Key References for more details).

AAQ-II: The authors report internal consistency reliabilities (alphas) of 0.78-0.88 and test-retest reliabilities of 0.79-0.81. A further study (Monestes et al., 2009) reported alphas of 0.76-0.87 and a test-retest reliability of 0.80.

AAQ: The authors report evidence of exemplary convergent validity. Further studies report evidence of discriminative validity and exemplary convergent validity (please see Key References for more details).

AAQ-II: The authors report evidence of discriminative validity, predictive validity, extensive divergent validity, and exemplary convergent validity. A further study (Monestes et al., 2009) reported evidence of discriminative validity and exemplary convergent validity.
