This measure may be used to assess the type and severity of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) symptoms in children and adolescents, as a screening measure to identify children and adolescents in need of further intervention, or to monitor improvement in OCD symptoms in children and adolescents following treatment/intervention.
Clinician, parent, or child/adolescent being assessed.

Obsessions and Compulsions
Yes-no for checklist items.
For severity questions, 5-point Likert scale from 0 (none) to 4 (severe) with descriptions of anchors for each question.

For self- and parent-report versions, none.
For clinician interview version, interviewer must be a clinician familiar with OCD in children and adolescents.
Scoring is done by hand. Scoring and interpretation should be done by a clinician familiar with OCD in children and adolescents.
The norms, reliability and validity statistics included in each measure profile are those reported by the author(s) of the measure. It is important to note that altering, adding or removing questions from a measure voids these reported statistics, possibly making the revised tool unreliable and invalid.
65 children and adolescents, ages 8 to 17, recruited from the Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Clinic at the Yale Child Study Center between 1989 and 1995. The sample consisted of 40 boys and 25 girls.
The authors reported internal consistency reliabilities (alphas) of 0.53-0.92, and inter-rater reliabilities of 0.66-0.91. Further studies have reported alphas ranging from 0.32 to 0.90, test-retest reliabilities of 0.61-0.89, and inter-rater reliabilities of 0.58-0.96.
The authors report evidence of moderate concurrent validity, and minimal convergent and divergent validities. Further studies have reported evidence of moderate to extensive concurrent, convergent, and divergent validities. However, there has been mixed evidence supporting concurrent and divergent validities.
