Quest cohort program update

As we kick off 2025 with our seven Quest Cohort 4 agencies, we are excited to continue to work through their quality improvement (QI) journey with them. Following the Lean Six Sigma methodology, they are progressing through the different stages of the DMAIC framework (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) with support from their coaches. Most of the project teams have entered the ‘Improve’ phase of their projects.

The Improve phase is where the ‘fun’ begins! This phase involves selecting and testing change idea(s) that will help solve the identified problem. It is the result of months of work to define and determine the root causes of the issue at hand. With the completion of their projects in sight, it is critical that teams document their journey. A key tool to consider, that is an integral part of the entire QI journey, is the A3. The A3 is a structured report that tells the story of an improvement and what’s being done to achieve it. It serves as a great communication tool that captures all the necessary information, helps fosters agreement and serves to keep the team on track. It is a living document, so teams are encouraged to revisit and update the A3 throughout their project.

Teams will be working through their A3s as they move into the Control phase, helping them wrap up their projects successfully.
